Body elingate and compressed; head slightly short; snout blunt, tounded and depressed; eyes small and nearer to tip of snout; mouth large and terminal; both jaws and vomer with tiny teeth,but none on palatine; anterior and posterior nostrils next to each other; barbells 4 pairs, nostril barbells pressnt, posterior barbells on chin reaching thee base of pectoral fin, anterior one comparatively short, base of maxillary barbells strong; gill opening large nad branchial membrane free; body naked and without lateral line; head and fins with thick skin. Dorsal fin raysi, 6;adipose fin long and connected with caudak fin; anal fin rays iii,10,simple ray of pectoral fin spiny and short, with 3-4serration on hind margin; pelvic fin lower and caudal fin rounded. Body color brownish gray,with small dark spots, fins yellow but black in center of dorsal and caudal fins

It lives in rapid flowing streams with plenty of rocks. It is a kind of small carnivorous fish living at the water bottom
